Seattle Makeup Artist Honors Healthcare Heroes in Powerful Commercial Campaign”

Behind the Mask: Honoring Seattle’s Healthcare Heroes Through Artistry

By Isaac Meyers – Celebrity & Commercial Makeup Artist, Seattle

In a city known for innovation, resilience, and heart, it’s the people on the frontlines of healthcare who quietly shape the soul of Seattle. This recent commercial shoot was a powerful reminder of that. The image you see here is more than a portrait—it’s a reflection of strength, care, and the humanity behind every mask.

As a Seattle-based commercial makeup artist, I had the honor of creating this look for a healthcare-focused campaign that highlights the incredible individuals working in hospitals like Harborview, Swedish, UW Medicine, and Virginia Mason. These aren’t just institutions—they’re lifelines to our communities.

Makeup with Meaning

This wasn’t your typical glam session. Every product, every brushstroke was chosen to complement the purpose of the shoot: authenticity.

The goal was to strike a balance between polished and real—to respect the vulnerability of the subject while enhancing their presence on camera. As an Indigenous artist from the Su’naaq Kodiak tribe, I always carry cultural responsibility in my work. Representation matters, and so does intention.

Why Healthcare Campaigns Matter in Media

The healthcare industry is one of the most photographed—and least celebrated—fields in commercial production. That’s why I’m proud to contribute my skills to campaigns that bring visibility to the people behind the scrubs.

From emotional PSA shoots to corporate healthcare rebrands, my job as a makeup artist in Seattle is to make sure each person feels seen, not just styled.

Bringing Real Faces Forward

I’ve worked on countless sets—TV, film, and commercial. But shoots like these hit different. They remind me why I started doing makeup over 20 years ago: to help people feel confident, strong, and connected to their story.
